Just around the corner

8.30am on a Good friday morning, still in bed. The building shook us up, like an earthquake, not that i have ever experienced earthquake, but ya! thats how i felt. Not knowing where to go, how to jump, which direction. Straight to the window, saw a huge dust that covered the whole street, if thats how i could describe it. What is going on? looking at my little boy who is sleeping and his Father who was sleeping in another bedroom, i ran to wake him up. `something is happening, wake up!` He woke up and we all went to the window to look. People from the opposite apartment are starring further than our Hotel/Appartment. Phew! Then this means its not where we were.
A 16 Storrey Building has collapsed and buried about 60 people. most are construction workers, some were children playing next to the building as it was a holiday and kids were home and some were just people passing by.
It has since been a sad day for my family as we were frightened by the incidence, not mentioning families and relatives of the people covered buy the rubble. Much as we had plans to go to the beach to relax for the whole day, my body was tired and my stomach was turning. Finally after 2 hours , picked myself up and we left the building, just to be away from the ambulance sirens and big trucks to load the rubble. On our way to the beach we met some army soldiers rushing to come and rescue.

While we were away driving the day, The president of Tanzania came with his wife to sympathize with the families of the ones involved, which i thought was humane of him.

Imagine you...

Imagine you...
- woke up hungry like I did today?
- had Un expected girl -friends who decided to pay you a visit?
- your mother I law who was passing by, just to check on her grand kids ?

As for me, I had no intentions of making breakfast today and no intenstions of dressing up to go and eat in a restaurant . Mhhh! What is Internet for if I can't get food online, especially breakfast. I never thought of that. Do you think there is here in Nairobi ? silly me...I'm sure there is. As I finish my conversation with myself I took my iPad and started searching.
Hello  ! There is!  www.hellofood.co.ke

Oh ! by the way they have a free application for iPad and you can follow them on Twitter.
All I needed was to register and start ordering what I wanted. And I didn't want the Kama kawaida as they say it here. I wanted to do it my way. Where I will peak and mix like I would scrape my fridge. So , this is what I ordered

- scrambled egg with a slice of bread
-fish fingers
-and green salad
This was just perfect for me. And click / confirm order.
Two seconds later , someone calls from a hello foods to confirm the order, yes it's mine! (I'm impressed). Wouldn't you? This is Africa ! They told me how long it was gonna take, about an hour as the restaurant was not open at the time I called.
Here comes the motorbike with my breakfast, and still warm.
Now let me do my critics lol,
Yes it was warm and I was exited to have my breakfast at home ,but, my egg soaked the bread, yak! Since I was a kid, I never liked a soaked bread. I wish they could be another way of serving it without the egg being put on top of the bread and covered with foil. ( separate the two) please.

Project management

I keep promising myself one thing that doesn't happen in a second, but that's one of my dreams. Right now as I'm sitting here, Cracking my head.My husband and I have a house that is sitting in South Africa without anyone taking care of it. Buglery/ crime has led it to this state. Not mentioning tanents who lets you down. As someone who lives in diaspora, far, far away from your homeland, it maked this again very hard to mend your home. Much as People can envy you/ your traveling the world, trust me, it's not nice. It consumes all your savings-correction, you don't save at all. The little you put asides, will help you buy a plane ticket once a year or twice in order for you to visit home and see your abandoned home. You think of selling it and you again think how much you have invested in the property and how much you will lose. Is it worth selling it, you ask yourself? Yesterday I convinced my husband that his month end I'm thinking of going home to renovate, so that we can get an agent to find a tenant, at least it will help us reduce our monthly expenses. I have forgotten one thing, that my son has turned two and he no longer pays 10 % of my flight fares, he is now paying 75%. So what now?, I can't afford to burn R 11000.00 on air. This is the very money I need to renovate than giving it to airlines. This is where I go back to my dreams of doing project management for people living in diaspora like me. At some point most if not all of us will want to go back home and live happy in a decent house. Much as you can't afford to visit home, but at least build. The question is, who is trustworthy to help you build while you are away? Like right now , I am asking myself he same question. Homework- I know I have too many dreams and I need to sit down and see which one is worth it. School , photography, fashion or Project management? As for now, I am looking for someone to project my house, the rest later.

Which part of my face says DUMB?

Which part of my face is written DUMB? They cleaned my room and took my earrings under the pillow. In a few sec, I remembered..."shut!, my earrings! ... Too late#. I called one to ask, she denies, and added by asking me if I am sure?' then pretend to call laundry, then tells me, they didn't see them either. Now I'm sitting here feeling Very very STUPID and PISSED. I'm trying to save them frm being fired. Am I too nice or still stupid? A hour later, I see them by the corridor, I asked again now the other partner in crime, she says no. My second question, now who made the bed between the two of you? The 1st one replies- both. I kept quite. The 2nd one started speaking with their native language. They said they are coming in to search...mhhhhh! Really? I left them and continued with the internet guy. Few second later, " mama Khaya! Come! They lifted my shoes next to the door and walla" they found them. Pshhhhh! https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=489505441112299&set=a.379592722103572.92942.379247052138139&type=1&relevant_count=1 The next morning, guilt was all over her face when she came clean the room. She approaches me ...mama Khaya, I was just checking if all your belongings are there. I said, "don't even go there, I don't wanna talk about it". She then said, " you know with Khaya anything can happen" ...before she could even finish, my stomach was upset, my voice changes. I said to her. If the baby was playing with it, you would hv found one instead of both, so no I AM NOT STUPID! I've put them under the pillow, you mopped the floor, two ours later the earrings walked and hide under the shoes, where you have mopped, is that possible? Zee! " do you know I could have just reported you to your manager and you loose your job for a stupid earring that didn't cost much. But you were now going to sit at home for that? She then said , " I'm sorry about that". Last year same thing happened and I kept quite. Silly girls. Next time "ngtobanyatsela," gwa! Look who's talking.
