Just around the corner

8.30am on a Good friday morning, still in bed. The building shook us up, like an earthquake, not that i have ever experienced earthquake, but ya! thats how i felt. Not knowing where to go, how to jump, which direction. Straight to the window, saw a huge dust that covered the whole street, if thats how i could describe it. What is going on? looking at my little boy who is sleeping and his Father who was sleeping in another bedroom, i ran to wake him up. `something is happening, wake up!` He woke up and we all went to the window to look. People from the opposite apartment are starring further than our Hotel/Appartment. Phew! Then this means its not where we were.
A 16 Storrey Building has collapsed and buried about 60 people. most are construction workers, some were children playing next to the building as it was a holiday and kids were home and some were just people passing by.
It has since been a sad day for my family as we were frightened by the incidence, not mentioning families and relatives of the people covered buy the rubble. Much as we had plans to go to the beach to relax for the whole day, my body was tired and my stomach was turning. Finally after 2 hours , picked myself up and we left the building, just to be away from the ambulance sirens and big trucks to load the rubble. On our way to the beach we met some army soldiers rushing to come and rescue.

While we were away driving the day, The president of Tanzania came with his wife to sympathize with the families of the ones involved, which i thought was humane of him.
