Month-end Blues

Its just a pity i nolonger live in a country where I use to pay my debts over the internet and im done. No need to go to the bank, fill a form and all that. But I must admit the PRIVATE BANKING here is good for me. It makes me feel i am inportant and by the way, I am, lol' Yes! they need my money- "BANK".
Now the kind of job that i do, demands a lot. If you are a Housewife, you will agree with me.
This morning I woke up to first fight with a cashier at Nairobi Anderson clinic ( They refused to refund me) anyway I still think they made a mistake and couldnt solve it and I became the victim. So life is, what can you do. Proceeded to pay my bills and forgot one, coz I was a bit disturbed by the Clinic Insident. Got back home, checked my mail. There calls my girlsfriend and I asked her to come pick me up and take me Junction Mall.( poor friend didnt even plan to go there) but ya! thats what girlfriends do. I needed to pay the other bills. And making things worse is I do have a car ( her name is SHOSHO, she is 0 years old and I cant drive her, only my driver can). Now I just needed to go with a friend not with the driver this time, just to chit chat, you know what i mean. Window shop a bit. And yes a cup of coffee will help.
Time goes too fast , could only managed to pay one bill and Im left with one more to go.
By the time she dropped me at home, its late. My daughter was picked up an hour late by the driver and it didnt crossed my mind he will forget the picking up time. Home work has to be done, cooking, and my 9 months old baby is screeming for my attention, while ime cutting and chopping onions and tomatoes.
Im exhausted! and three hours later my friend just arrived home because of rain and jam. My poor friend.

Mirrors don't lie

If a mirror tells you something, its true. The thing is where I live, I dont have a full length morror. And thts where the danger begins and i have been fooling myself by saying" Oh I like wearing beggy clothes since I havent lost my baby fat". While im adding a lot of fat, GOSH! why do we do this to ourselves? God Knows.
When I saw the damage yesterday, I didnt want to see food infront of me and again I fooled myself and said, " But I'm on holiday, why not". You know im an African, I love my pap/ sadza/ ugali, I went for an african mean....mmmmh! Thats what ive been looking for. I kno what you saying to me. Foolish!
But, today I've been a good girl.
• Breakfast- Fruits and an egg with cheese omelett.

Who would have thought?

Presidential suite? Na!
I woke up this morning and dressed my little person to go for Breakfast...shut! we geeting late, i thought. Breakfast finishes at 10am. Its now 9.40 as i pulled the door close. Guess what? as I aproach the elevator, two body guards. One sitting infront of the door of the suite not far from the elevator. The other one is sitting right by the elevator...obviously, someone very importent is here. One elevator is indicating an X meaning its blocked. As i entered the elevator another man wearing a suit comes in with us. I decided to break the silence- " which president is here?" I now it sounds very wrong, its a blunt question, what if he replies me and ask, who told you there is a President? Instead he replies me and said, Its the president from Uganda.
Museveni is here, same floor as us. Isnt that cool?
Later I got a chance to go inside the room and take some photos and chilled a bit listened to the staff members that were aguing on the otherside. Just be for I left the Housekeeper offered me some chocolates from the jar.

Fashionista!

This is how I would have described myself when I first came here, before the housewife kicked in. It’s a pretty acceptable life of Home management but, like all kinds of jobs it comes with a package.
I have done this before in my own country and can’t confirm it worked as I recall. Here I am today looking back to when I came to East Africa. I prepared myself for this Home management job with fantasy in my head.” Im gonna get there and start my own Wedding consulting company. “ Sounds like a cool Idea, said my husband.after all, im so used to the working from home business.
Got here, looked around, attended weddings and parties. Being spoiled by Internet back from where I was, I pretty much associated the two countries like they are the same. ‘ THIS IS AFRICA’ as other people will describe it. No gal, it doesn’t work like that. Here you source the suppliers by yourself. The sitting down in your living room and browse for wedding suppliers, isn’t working here. I guess in the near future.
So, what next?
I can design and stitch as they call it here, like “ you can stitch?” Yes , I stitch. So there I was buying sewing machines since I left mine at home. Have you heard of River Road? I don’t think you’d be comfortable to go there especially if you are a foreigner. There I was trying to get a portable domestic machine. Did I get what I had in mind, NO. but I did get something that comes with a stand. Where do I fit this in my house? Luckily, the house comes with an SQ. so am safe to keep this machine there.
To cut this short for now, which I will continue telling you at some point. I started sewing, went back home to get Material, and why go all the way back home, when material is available here? I wanted to bring up something different and add a bit of western in it. Anyway!
There is a lady who once came in the house on my first visit. She said Welcome in the “Widows of Microsoft” yes I didn’t misspell, ‘WIDOWS’ why widows, you may ask. I will tell you some other time…keep reading.
